Our Annual Research Grants
Circulation Foundation Clinical Research Fellowship
This grant of £20,000 is to support research in any area of arterial or venous disease either in basic science or in clinical medicine or surgery. The grant can be used to purchase small pieces of equipment, go towards salary costs or fund the running costs of a project.
The Mary Davies Research Fellowship
The grant of £25,000 is given to support research activity, in either clinical or basic science research in any area of vascular disease. The grant is not meant to fund a medical salary. It can be used to supplement an ongoing project and to buy a small piece of equipment or partially support a research nurse.
Endovascular Training Award
Two grants of £5000 are available to assist surgeons to obtain endovascular training they cannot otherwise obtain. The money could be used for travel or living costs or to pay institutional fees. The grants are available to trainees or established consultants.
Society of Vascular Nurses Award & Society for Vascular Technology Award
One award of £7,500 is available for each of these membership organisations. The grant can be used to fund research projects or travel to another centre for educational or research reasons. It can also be used to set-up or enhance patient groups. They should not normally be used to buy equipment. Applications for these awards should be from SVN or SVT members.
Owen Shaw Award £3000
Funds of up to £3,000 are available for a study related to the rehabilitation of amputees, specifically devising better methods of helping patients to early mobilisation. This is an annual award which has been made possible by the kind donations of the late Mr Owen Shaw, who was himself an amputee.
Applications are invited from all those with an interest in this area, including physicians, nurses, technologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and prosthetists.
