Rudding Park Golf Day 2010
The Circulation Foundation held its Charity Golf Day on Friday 25th June 2010 at award winning Rudding Park in Harrogate, Yorkshire.
Following a rejuvenating breakfast of bacon rolls and coffee, 12 teams of golfers headed out into the sunshine and made their way around the award winning course at Rudding Park.
There was strong competition, however the winning men’s team of Peter Grant, David Berridge, Stephen Gilbey and Mark Elliott romped home with a respectable score of 93.

They were followed closely by our second placed men’s team of Vince Smyth, Nick Shaper, Nick Chant and Isaac Nyamekye who scored 90 points.
Our winning ladies team of Jane Gilbey, Barbara Dall, Kay Berridge and Dympna Ryan scored a commendable 84 points with the second placed ladies team of Sara Baker, Debbie Phillips, Julie Romaines and Deborah Rackusen hotly on their heels with 82 points.
Other Prizes:
The longest drive was awarded to Peter Dyke
The shortest drive on the 16th hole was awarded to Rob Fisher
Nearest the Pin was won by David Berridge
Each golfer was also encouraged to wear a pedometer to see how many steps they took to get round the course, the 4 highest scores received umbrellas as prizes as they spent longer on the course!
A drinks reception and fundraising dinner was held in the evening at the Rudding Park Hotel. A lively heads and tales game was held, followed dinner, a raffle and an auction which was supported generously by all guests.
We were then treated to the musical talents of the Black Dog Band, comprised of medical professionals, who entertained us for the rest of the evening.

The golf day and the dinner generated over £10,000 for the Foundation and we would like to thank Mr David Berridge, Professor Mike Gough, Mr Julian Scott, Mrs Moira Gough, Mrs Anne Johnson, Mrs Nikki Dewhirst and Mrs Sally Bucktrout for organising this wonderful event.
The team of nurses from Leeds did an incredible job of selling raffle tickets, helping with the auction and making sure that every guest felt welcomed and involved in the evening.
And finally thank you to everyone who came to the event and who donated or won any of our auction and raffle prizes.
