Marathon Success 2011
A huge well done to our three dedicated runners for completing what some people only dream of achieving in a life time - the London Marathon.
On a warm Sunday in mid-April, Nigel Roberts, Olly Pickard and Guy Salter took to the streets of London for the gruelling 26.2 mile route around the city.
Together they have raised over £3,000 for the Circulation Foundation and donations are still coming in.
Guy Salter had dreamt about running the London Marathon for years, calling it a “once in a lifetime” opportunity. He also wanted to raise vital funds for the Circulation Foundation in the process. Guy completed the marathon in a fantastic 5 hours and 12 minutes.

Nigel completed the marathon (his first) in an excellent time of 5 hours and 27 minutes. His wife, Muna, was 40 when she was diagnosed with Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD). Her symptoms became apparent while she was competing in a half-Ironman Triathlon.
Nigel chose to run the London Marathon to raise much needed funds for the Circulation Foundation in order to fund research into his wife’s condition. He has also secured matched funding for all donations from his company FP Marine Risks.

“My backup team of 39,999 other runners were of great assistance as were the estimated 100,000 fantastic people in the crowd who turned out to cheer me on around the whole route.” - Nigel.

This wasn’t Olly Pickard’s first marathon – he has run them for the last few years and completed this year's course in an impressive 4 hours and 10 minutes.
Sadly, Olly’s granddad died from a stroke in 2007 and this has motivated him to raise as much as he can the Circulation Foundation. Olly has set his sights on raising an incredible £5000 and has secured matched funding from Heinz, his employers.
