Society Members raise over £1000 for the Foundation

Congratulations to the Chairman of the Vascular Society's Audit Committee, David Mitchell, Chairman of the Education and Training Committee, Professor Jonathan Beard, vascular surgeon Richard Harvey and vascular scientist Tom Hopkins.

They raised over £1000 for the Circulation Foundation on a London to Brighton bike ride.

Mitchell

They completed the gruelling 54 mile ride on a cold November afternoon, starting from the Royal College of Surgeons, London, they passed through Brixton, Croydon and Purley, past Gatwick Airport, Crawley and then into the beautiful countryside of The Weald, crossing both the North and South Downs.

Before reaching their final destination of Brighton promenade, the riders faced the arduous task of cycling up Ditchling Beacon; it was a steep climb, but they were rewarded with a gentle 5 mile decent!

Beard

David, Jonathan, Richard and Tom completed the ride as part of the "Are your legs killing you?" campaign to reduce lower limb disease in the UK.

This is a brilliant example of members of the Society helping raise funds and awareness of the Circulation Foundation.  If you're inspired by our riders and would like to raise funds for the Circulation Foundation, please do get in touch with our office.
