Vascular Trainees Scale Ben Nevis, 29th June 2013
Joe Shalhoub and Ankur Thapar are both trainee vascular surgeons who have been awarded research funding through one of our awards – the Mary Davies Resarch Fellowship.

They’re now taking on the UK’s highest peak – Ben Nevis – on 29th June 2013 to raise funds for the Circulation Foundation. Their 1344m high climb takes them from sea level at Loch Linnhe, through 4 different vegetation zones to a snowy summit, and will take them around 6-8 hours.
Thanks and good luck! …you can sponsor them here.
London Edinburgh London – 28th July 2013
This summer, 1,000 riders from 33 countries will cycle 1400 kilometers from London to Edinburgh and back again in under five days. Riding through some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain, they will rely on self-sufficiency, camaraderie, and the hospitality of hundreds to complete an epic cycling challenge.
David Wells has committed to this event and set himself a target of £1,000 to raise for the Circulation Foundation. His father, who has vascular disease and has had a triple heart bypass and multiple strokes as a result, asked him to support our cause. Having recently had an operation to clear the arteries in his leg, we wish him a speedy recovery and thank them both for their support.
